Dear Elisabeth,

it was a pleasure for us to support the purpose of the INCTR, and we really liked the meeting. We know it is a big effort to organize it.

Best regards

Lets communicate

Dear Elisabeth and Lorenzo,

It was also a great experience for me, and I do hope that my presentation was interesting and useful.

My feeling is that they do have an impact on the practice of hematopathology in Africa.

Thank you so much for including me in these great meetings,

Ethel

Lets communicate

Dear Elisabeth,

Thank you very much for your email. I appreciated the opportunity to attend the meeting in Arusha, to present some of my work and to meet and discuss with many colleagues who attended. I agree that these meetings are very important for sharing and deepening local capacity and for reducing negative competition. I look forward to participating in future meetings.

Sincerely,

Sam

Letter from Leticia Quintanilla-Fend, President of the European Association of Haematopathology

Dear Daphne
I am right now in the airport in Dar es Saalem coming from Arusha. I
have to say that I was very impressed with the work that Lorenzo
together with Ian Magrath (INCTR) are doing in Africa. The meeting is an
incredible effort to improve the diagnostic skills of pathologist in
Africa. Except for the pathologists from Nigeria and South Africa, who
can afford to pay, all other pathologists and some clinicians from
Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Senegal, etc are sponsored to come. I can
assure you that the sponsorship that the EAHP gave to Lorenzo is more
than worth!!! Except for Isaacson, all other speakers cover their own
expenses to come to Africa (the only one I do not know is Harald Stein)
Nevertheless, Stefan Dirnhofer has been already one week in Nigeria to
help them to improve IHC. Ethel Cesarman is developing a PCR machine
that works with solar energy and an app for iPhone that reads the
results. Amazing. She is traveling now one week to Kenya to prove the
system on site.
The support to such programs is important and probably as society we
could get more involved…
Daphne, I think it is important to get the possibility to donate on
line. Unfortunately, this was not possible while paying the dues but we
need to find a way to send a new email asking for donations. Otherwise
we will not be able to continue supporting such programs.

With best regards,

Leticia
